Since March 19th, 2020 we have had an AA meeting online without interruption 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. We are a group of alcoholics working together to get and stay sober. We are doctors, custodians, mothers, fathers, children, and everyone in between living our lives one day at a time.

Celebrate Recovery, a 12-step group for men and women, meets at 7 p.m. Tuesdays at Cedar Creek Church, 3001 Banks Mill Road. Summer Revival will begin at 6 p.m.

When tragedy locked down the world, we found a place online where we could continue to share our experience, strength, and hope. Learn how to make the most of the resources available through Online AA meetings. Videos, pamphlets, and guides on how to work the program are available in multiple languages. Do you all consider feedback derogatory like most organizations these days.. Someone should oversee meetings as often they are not contained or safe or following AA principles. During meetings, we share one at a time without interruptions or crosstalk.

Many meetings close with members joining in a moment of silence followed by a prayer, or perhaps by reciting the Responsibility Statement or other A.A. Member serving as “leader” or “chair” opens the meeting using that group’s format, and selects a topic for discussion. Background for many topic meetings derives from A.A. Literature, such as Alcoholics Anonymous (Big Book), Twelve Steps and Twelve Traditions, As Bill Sees It, Daily Reflections, and from AA Grapevine. In A.A., alcoholics learn to stay away from alcohol completely in order to lead a normal life. In Al-Anon members have the opportunity to learn from the experiences of others who have faced similar problems. The OIAA 12th Step Committee, comprised of sober AA members worldwide, responds directly to people who are seeking help for a drinking problem. Your request will be received by members of this committee and answered via email as soon as possible.

This may be provided  on a slip that has been furnished by the referral source, or via a digital method if the group is online. The referred person is responsible for returning the proof of attendance. Sometimes a referral source asks for proof of attendance at A.A. Groups cooperate in different ways.

The Back to Basics Alcoholics Anonymous group will meet in-person at 7 p.m. Tuesdays, Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays at St. Paul Lutheran Church, 961 Trail Ridge Road. Masks are encouraged for those who are not vaccinated. The City of Aiken Parks, Recreation and Tourism department will offer a nature walk from a.m.
